180 days to the Memorial – The turn begins as ticket sales launch!

We are exactly 180 days away from the 2026 Gyulai István Memorial – Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix. This milestone, exactly six months before the starting gun, carries symbolic weight: Hungarian athletics is preparing for another “180-degree turn,” culminating on July 14. Once again, the world’s elite athletes will return to Budapest, hosted at the National Athletic Centre.

In addition to the 180-day countdown, ticket sales for the summer meet officially launch today. Fans can now secure their spots for one of Central Europe’s premier international athletics events – tickets are available via the Eventim platform.

Over the past decade, the Memorial has become a cornerstone of the sport, featuring Olympic and World Champions, world record holders, and rising stars. The 2026 edition aims to once again deliver a world-class field, high-intensity competition, and a premium spectator experience.

“The 180-day mark is both symbolic and a very real boundary – we are now truly heading into the home stretch for this summer’s headline event,” said Péter Deutsch, Chairman of the Organising Committee. “The Gyulai István Memorial – Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix is always about more than just a competition: it’s about the strength and progress of Hungarian athletics and the continuous renewal we witness year after year. With the countdown and ticket sales launching today, fans can reserve their seats in plenty of time.”

Over the next 180 days, expect exclusive content, behind-the-scenes videos, athlete announcements, and program updates as the vision for one of the summer’s biggest sporting experiences takes shape.
