The Gyulai István Memorial returns to Budapest, ten stars already announced
At a press conference, the organizers of the Gyulai István Memorial – Hungarian GP officially announced that after eleven years in Székesfehérvár the meeting returns to Budapest where its history started fifteen years ago.
The WACT Gold meeting will be on 12 August in the National Athletic Center in Budapest, venue of the 2023 World Athletics Championships and the 2026 World Athletics Ultimate Championship.
Miklós Gyulai, president of the Hungarian Athletics Association praised the work of the organizers:“Thank you for allowing us to remember my father with this competition in a great manner,” he said.The meeting is very important for our sport in Hungary and we are very proud that our top athletes can compete with many world stars in front of a home crowd in this wonderful stadium.
Péter Deutsch, president of the organizing committee emphasized the importance of the meeting in terms of the successful World Athletics championships, as well. “We are grateful to the beautiful town of Székesfehérvár for the superb hospitality throughout the over one decade. Thank you, Székesfehérvár!” said Péter Deutsch. It is a wonderful feeling to arrive to the National Athletic Center where our beloved sport can show again, why it is worth choosing it!
The program includes 19 international events plus several national and youth disciplines. The athlete who achieves the best performance of the meeting will be awarded with the traditional Dr. Bojidar Spiriev Trophy.

- Armand Duplantis, SWE, Pole Vault 2 x Olympic champion, 2 x world champion, world record holder, 3 x world indoor champion, 1st in WA overall ranking
- Femke Bol, NED, 400m Hurdles World and Olympic champion, world record holder(400m-sh), European record holder (400mH), 5 x European champion
- Miltiadis Tentoglou, GRE, Long Jump 2 x Olympic champion, world champion, 2 x world indoor champion, 3 x European champion
- Ethan Katzberg, CAN, Hammer Olympic and world champion
- Bence Halász, HUN, Hammer Olympic silver medalist, 2 x world bronze medalist, 2 x European silver medalist
- Steven Gardiner, BAH, 400m Olympic and world champion, 6 x winner of the meeting
- Attila Molnár, HUN, 400m European indoor champion
- Emmanouil Karalis, GRE, Pole European indoor champion, World indoor silver medalist, Olympic bronze medalist
- Luca Kozák, HUN, 100m Hurdles European silver medalist
- Boglárka Takács, HUN, 100m European indoor finalist, U23 European silver medalist
