Tokyo Olympic Champion joins the line-up at the Gyulai István Memorial

More athletics stars are set to shine at the Gyulai István Memorial! As part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series, the prestigious meet will take place on August 12 at the National Athletic Center in Budapest. Organizers have announced the addition of several world-class athletes to an already stellar line-up.

Let’s start with a true Olympic champion: among the competitors we will welcome Jamaica’s Hansle Parchment, gold medallist in the men’s 110m hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics and one of the discipline’s most iconic figures. He will be joined by fellow Jamaican Wayne Pinnock, Olympic and World silver medallist in the long jump. In pole vault, the Philippines’ World silver medallist Ernest John Obiena is also set to compete.

The women’s 400m hurdles field – already among the event’s highlights – has been further strengthened with the confirmation of Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton, a two-time World bronze medallist. Hungarian fans will also have someone to cheer for, as Universiade bronze medallist Sára Mátó is set to represent the host nation.

Staying with women’s hurdles events, the 100m hurdles will feature two-time European Indoor Champion Nadine Visser of the Netherlands. In the 200m, Great Britain’s European silver medallist Daryll Neita aims to deliver a standout performance, while in the 1500m, North and Central American champion Heather MacLean is expected to make a strong impact. And in the women’s long jump, yet another Olympic medallist will be in action: two-time Olympic bronze medallist Jasmine Moore of the USA will compete in the field.

Less than three weeks to go – and the legend continues!
